Friends of the Earth Europe unites more than 30 national organisations with thousands of local groups and is part of the world's largest grassroots environmental network, Friends of the Earth International.
As the European region of the Friends of the Earth International network, our mission is to fundamentally transform the consumption and production patterns of Europe. Our vision is of a peaceful and sustainable world based on societies living in harmony with nature.
We envision a society of interdependent people living in dignity, wholeness and fulfillment where equity and human and peoples’ rights are realised. We are aware that Europe has a responsibility to the world because of the impacts it has globally, both for good and for bad, and we acknowledge at the same time that Europe has the economic and political power to effect change. We seek to achieve an equitable and environmentally sustainable world whilst maintaining and strengthening our democratic, participative structures, to ensure that European policies have the interests of people at their heart and are not driven by corporate and other vested interests.
