Celebrate, inform, act. ENERGY UNION is a pan-European campaign tour supported by the European Union to promote Intelligent Energy in a funky way. Come to see audio-visual pioneers COLDCUT(Ninja Tune) with their iconoclastic AV film 'Energy Union'. There will be various specials in the afternoon to show that saving the planet is not only a serious issue but also involves lots of fun.

The Energy Union "Energy Monopoly" Game
Come and join Friends of the Earth and the Energy Union on the beach in Ostend to play "energy monopoly". Two teams of players will compete to fill our giant "energy monopoly" board with their "stupid energy": fossil fuels, nuclear power and wasteful misuge of energy or "intelligent energy": energy saving, renewable energy, and changes in how we use energy.

Willl you buy coal power stations, and condemn us to a dirty future of greenhouse gas emissions?
Will you invest in oil companies like Shell and BP, to make quick money at the cost of people and the planet?
Will you reky in biofuels, which might sound green, until you realise you have to cut down forests to plant them?
Or will you go for energy from the sun, wind and water?
How about finding ways to organise our lives and communities to make sure everyone has access to enough clean energy?

Along the way, you'll meet all sorts of obstacles from nuclear disasters to strikes in your factories and power stations, and have to do tasks with your team to build your energy future.
