Energy Union Tour Review 2010 - Part One

Project coordinator Martha Bissmann at the infostand at the tourstop in Zagreb

Energy Union successfully completed the first batch of the 2010 tour stops and it's time for a recap of what happened so far: Ten promoters and collaboration partners in four countries (Croatia, Slovenia, Bulgaria and Germany) helped to organize six A/V film screenings, four panel discussions and two train events. More than 3200 people visited the broad range of events and discussed, socialized and celebrated with the Energy Union team. A lot of information material was handed out and a photo campaign was set up at some of the tour stops. Many photos can be seen on Energy Union's Flickr Photostream.

Panel discussion at the c/o pop festival in Cologne

The tour stops featured panel discussions organized in conjunction with Energy Union partners Friends Of The Earth Europe, Green City and FOCUS. The topics ranged from “Renewable Energies” (Zagreb), ''Switch to Green Energy - Intelligent Energy is a better lifestyle!” (Ljubljana), "Climate Change and Transport” (Sofia) to “How green is green? - Green aspects of music and event industry” (Cologne).

On some of the tour stops a special “train event” was set up as a teaser for the main events. People could socialize, meet the Energy Union team and get informed on the topics of the Energy Union Tour.

Matt Black of Coldcut (Ninja Tune, London) presents their iconoclastic AV film 'Energy Union'.

As a main event, Coldcut's Matt Black and Vienna VJ crew 4YourEye did a joint visual session, a unique live cinema remix of elements from the Energy Union film blended with new materials and state of the art VJ sources, soundtracked by very special guest DJs and electronic artists. The audiovisual mix film about "Intelligent Energy" - blending pop music with colorful visuals - got vital messages across to a broad international audience.

The first half of the Energy Union Tour 2010 is completed and the Energy Union team is looking forward to organizing the next tour stops in Belgium (Ostende) and Spain (Barcelona and Madrid). While the team is preparing, you can use the Energy Union facebook account to communicate and deliver feedback, as well as check out the weekly updated Energy Union Blog.

The Energy Union team wishes to thank all the people being part of the events so far and to all project partners and promoters working together to push forward the ideas and visions of Energy Union! It's time!
