COLDCUT (Ninja Tune / UK)
The pioneering band Coldcut, consisting of Matt Black and Jonathan More from London, has produced especially for Energy Union tour a new audiovisual film about Intelligent Energy, innovative live cinema in a typical Coldcut mash-up style! Coldcut are considered to be the “creators” of modern audiovisual music. The creators of “Techno-House” gave the genre of “Remix” a new direction. Produced together with Hexstatic in 1998, their hit “Timber” helped audiovisual music in becoming popular far from the shores of the UK. Coldcut’s label Ninja Tune also stands for sound artists emphasising audiovisual music. Celebrating its twentieth anniversary, 2010 will see the release of Coldcut's new album, as well as the Solid Steel mix CD.
RDYO DJs Soundsystem (Ljubljana) + MC FATS (Metalheadz / Eastside / True Playaz / London UK)
RDYO DJs Soundsystem is composed of nine DJ’s, everyone having their own view and style of DJing, but most of all they strive to convert their personal selection to a shared whole. They work as a “DJ band” in various combinations. The founders and main DJs are JAMirko and Pier, recognized DJs at home and abroad that have been contributing to the multimedia club culture since 1996. Besides DJing they are also active in the education of young artists and spreading of urban/club culture.
This time in Štuk they will perform with MC Fats, a DnB veteran who, with his microphone, has travelled the whole world and always maintained a reputation of an MC who ensures constant freshness and energy of DJ sets. In more then 20 years on the scene, MC Fats has laid down vocals for some of the most famous DNB classics, among which are “Drop it down” and “Love, Peace and Unity”.

DJ ROCCA
Rocca is one of Maribor and Slovenia's best DJ's. Fact! He started out playing house music, but soon realised that breakbeat was the only thing for him. He's got funk coming out of his fingers and he knows how to rock a party. He was a resident DJ in Supernova club in Pekarna (Maribor) and he plays regularly all over Slovenia. He also played in Klub K4 (Ljubljana), Springfestival (Graz, Austria) and at Outlook Festival (Croatia).
ROOTS IN SESSION SOUNDS
ROOTS IN SESSION SOUNDS was founded in 2000, when a one week RADYOYO radio show, particularly playing Breakbeat music, turned into several thematic shows playing various genres, such as Drum'n'Bass, Breakbeat, HipHop, R'n'B, Soul, Funk, Nu Jazz, Down Tempo, Reggae, Dancehall...
The Wednesday show, hosted by the selector PIER and his assistants FU, MAHOWNEE and SHINE, was named Roots in Session and it covered all Reggae styles.
It became clear that Roots in session is not just a weekly music show, but also a movement, trying to represent and spread positive vibrations, thinking and philosophy, which derives from the Reggae culture itself.
Today, the ROOTS IN SESSION SOUNDS live performance is a show comprising all Reggae styles, expanded on to Hip Hop, Jungle and Drum'n'Bass.

VJ RASTA ON THE MOUSE
VJ Rasta alias Andrej Intihar is a recognised name on the Slovenian scene. Having graduated from the Faculty of Multimedia, he is a rare Slovenian VJ to be using original materials and possessing the sense of artistic creativity as well as extensive technical knowledge.
In Štuk, Maribor you will be able to observe his excellent visualisations accompanying the RDYO team with whom he has been collaborating successfully for a number of years. His other projects include the production of short films and animation, advertisements, multimedia performances etc.
GRIDIO – INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION (BrightonArt)
GRIDIO is an interactive system that allows the visitors to play within a developing repertoire of audiovisual compositions. Pressure sensors on the grid- patterned floor detect movements of people within the installation and this triggers multiple simultaneous audiovisual clips. Video from the clips is mixed on a large projection screen, associated audio through a loudspeaker system… a giant human audiovisual sequencer originally developed by dance legends Coldcut.
Gridio tours the world acquiring new compositions. Its first appearance was at the MACBA in Barcelona. A subsequent revision was built by BrihtonArt. As a bonus the installation also features brand-new content adapted from the Coldcut for Energy Union Tour.
EPeKa (Maribor, Slovenia)
Scientific and Research association for Art, Cultural-Educational programmes and Technology EPeKa (www.epeka.si) was founded in 2008 to integrate creators of contents from fields of culture, art, education, science and technology for the project European Capital of Culture 2012 (http://www.maribor2012.info)
The association focuses on international integration and cooperation with organisations and institutions at a local, regional and national level, its particular aim being the interdisciplinarity of various fields of art as well as research into ways of realising cultural programmes and projects, and establishing the platform to integrate artistic creativity, scientific research and technological paradigm in the contemporary setting, yet based on past knowledge and opening up future findings.
With regard to the programme, the association focuses on events that would redefine Slovenian culture, placing it on the world map, and of course, primarily on the European Capital of Culture 2012. Its paradigm is integration and cooperation, which will be realised both at a formal and content level in local, inter-urban, regional, national, international EU and global contexts. The world is global, and so are art and science, while the contemporary ICT network is the network of establishing such multipolar integration.
